Dollar Store Bird Houses
I'm all about the dollar store finds. The place is full of cheap treasures in my opinion! And honestly, SO much of it can be utilized for teaching your kids at home. While I was in the art section there the other day, I came across the cutest wooden birdhouses. They turned into the best spring activity! Check it out!
What You Need:
Wooden birdhouse
Paint
Paint brushes
Drill
String
Instructions:
Pull out the paint stuff and let your kids decorate their birdhouses however they want!
Let the houses dry completely!
Once dried, drill two holes in the top and feed a string through.
Hang them up somewhere in your yard!
Activity Notes:
If your Dollar Tree is out of these, check Michaels or Hobby Lobby!
Use this activity as a research opportunity! Let your kids learn about what kinds of birds are in your area and what sort of things they eat, then put some of that in the houses.
Have your kids check on the birdhouses and see if anything is going on over there. Have fun making homemade binoculars, changing where they are hanging, and trying different bird snacks inside!
Pin it for later!
