Galaxy Magic Milk Science
If you’re studying space with your preschoolers, you have to try this simple and beautiful galaxy magic milk science experiment with them! They’ll love watching the colors swirl and mix, and this one is easy to reset and do over and over again. Be sure to check out the video below to see the experiment in action!
What you need:
Plate
Milk (whole milk works best)
Food coloring
Dish soap
Cotton swab
Instructions:
Pour a shallow layer of milk into the plate.
Add some food coloring (it works best if you’re generous with the colors!)
Dip your cotton swab into the dish soap and add a drop to the milk.
Watch the colors swirl around like a galaxy!
Activity note:
This science experiment works because the dish soap begins to break up the fat in the milk. The food coloring allows you to see this process that would normally be invisible to you. How cool is that?
