Measuring Flowers Math Activity (free download!)
Welcome to our blooming corner of learning and fun! Spring has (almost) sprung, and in today's blog, we're diving into a delightful flower measuring math activity to celebrate the season. Measuring with non-standard units is a great skill for preschoolers to practice and master before kindergarten! Keep reading for all of the fun details, and be sure to grab the free download below!
You will need:
Fake flowers from the dollar store (or real flowers if you have them!)
Variety of measuring mediums (we used linking cubes, counting bears, and a ruler)
Flower measuring cards (free download below!)

Instructions:
Download and print our flower measuring cards (see below!) You can laminate them for added durability.
Cut the flowers to a variety of different lengths.
Set out one measuring medium and have your child practice measuring and counting how tall each flower is.
Change to a different measuring medium and compare!
Once they’ve measured all the fake or real flowers, set out the flower measuring cards and practice with those, too!
