Christmas I Spy Sensory Bin (free download!)
Do you need a fun and easy to prep sensory activity for your preschooler this Christmas? We put a holiday twist on our Back to School I Spy sensory bin, and created this adorable Christmas I Spy sensory bin to share with you! We used holiday items that should be easy to find in your Christmas decor or local dollar store, but we also have a free download of holiday flashcards that you can use instead if you don’t want to track down the items. Be sure to scroll to the bottom to grab those!
You will need:
A large plastic bin
Sensory base material (anything works, but we used rice)
Christmas themed items
Christmas tree
bell
stocking
candy cane
gingerbread boy and girl
gingerbread house
snowflake
star
ornament
snowman
reindeer
present
Santa Clause
Magnifying glass (totally optional, but it adds to the fun!)
Scoops or tweezers for extra fine motor practice
I Spy List (grab the free download below!)
Instructions:
Pour the sensory base material into the bin, filling it about halfway.
Scatter the Christmas themed items throughout the sensory base, making sure they are well mixed and partially hidden.
Place the I Spy list near the bin, ensuring it is easily accessible for children.
Place the magnifying glass and any other tools, such as tweezers or small scoops, beside the bin.
Let your child use the scoops and tweezers to find all the items on their checklist!
