Painting with Forks Process Art

Have you noticed that kiddos love to paint with different tools? In our class we paint with paintbrushes, sponges, cotton balls, cotton swabs, marbles, our hands….the list goes on and on. And today, we got to paint with forks! Keep reading to see what we created and how you can do the same at home!

You will need:

  • Tempera paint (we like this kind)

  • Construction paper

  • Googly eyes (like these)

  • Scissors

  • Plastic fork

Instructions:

  1. Set out construction paper and paint for your child.

  2. Show them how to use the back of the fork tines to make fun textures while they’re painting!

  3. Use construction paper and googly eyes to make any animals you’d like! We did bears today.

  4. This is great fine motor work, and it is so fun to use different tools to paint. I especially love how each finished bear looks different from the next.

Let us know in the comments what kind of animal you create with your child!
