Conversation Heart Color Sorting
Valentine's Day is just around the corner and there are so many fun and EASY Valentine themed learning activities you can do with your kiddos!
So today we wanted to share a simple activity using conversation hearts! You can do this exercise right now, in your own home, and help foster color recognition and sorting. Plus, who doesn't love conversation hearts?! They are so cute! And tasty too (we may have munched on a few while playing this game)!
You will need:
Conversation heart candies
Small containers for sorting
Colored paper
Bowl (optional)
Instructions:
Place all the conversation hearts in an easily accessible bowl.
Cut out small squares from colored paper. You'll want to have a colored piece of paper that matches each of the colors of the conversation hearts.
Spread out plastic containers for sorting. Lay each square next to a container.
Have your child match and sort the heart candies into each coordinating container. Encourage them to name the color as they sort them!
Enjoy this sweet (I know, I had to!) little activity with your child! If you decide to try it, comment below on and tell us how it went!
